Behind the name

Saraswati (pronounced: Sa-RAS-wa-ti) is the Hindu goddess of communication, wisdom and learning. Her name is associated with the ancient Saraswati River. In Indian lore, river crossings symbolize the journey from ignorance toward increased understanding and freedom.

Saraswati is frequently pictured with four arms, indicating her multifaceted nature. She is often portrayed sitting on a lotus flower.
